Video Marketing Through YouTube

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Video marketing is huge these days and it´s so easy to do that it´s a real shame if you aren´t using video marketing to help promote your business. You don´t even have to host your own videos on your website, you can simply use a free video host like YouTube. There are plenty of similar video sites available, but none has yet reached the popularity of YouTube, which is what makes it such a great place to start your video marketing campaign.

YouTube Video Marketing Tips

  • Create a profile. You definitely need to customize your profile and include links to your website in it. When someone wants to check out what else you have available, they will look at your profile.
  • Set up a playlist. Many YouTube users look specifically for playlists, so if you have more than one video, you can set up a playlist and reach more users.
  • Make friends. Video marketing works much like social media, so forming a community on video sites is an excellent way to make sure that more people see your videos and visit your website.
  • Use people. Using people in your videos will make them more dynamic, not to mention, they will tend to want to show their friends and family and your video will spread that much faster!

Video marketing is still a vastly underrated type of marketing, meaning that not a lot of people are using it and this is an area that is wide open for the taking. Why not try boosting your business with some video marketing? It doesn´t have to take much time or money and you could end up with plenty more traffic to your business site.

Hot SEO Tips To Implement on Your Business Website

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

SEO is the best free method of boosting your search engine rankings. By simply using some tried and true SEO techniques, you can move up in the search engines and gain more traffic, which can hopefully be converted into sales. Apart from just using your keywords in the titles and throughout your webpages, what can you do?

Use titles for links. Your links can have titles and using keywords in these is an excellent method of boosting the SEO on your business website.

Use bold type.
Occasionally, put one of your keywords or phrases in bold type to help it stand out to both readers and the search engine robots. They will see the keywords as being more important because of this SEO technique. Just don´t do all keywords in bold.

Deep linking.
Rather than have all incoming links go to your homepage, aim to have many go to specific articles or other pages on your business website. This indicates to the search engines that your entire website is of value.

Switch up your anchor text. When choosing your anchor text, be sure that it doesn´t all read the same. For example, if your keywords are “work at home moms”, you would want to mix the anchor text up and use things like “wahms”, “work at home mothers” “moms who work at home”, etc. This will indicate to the search bots that you aren´t forcing people to use the same anchor text.

Good SEO techniques will help your business website rise up in the ranks of the search engines, something that will bring you more clients in the long run. It´s worth the taking the extra time to make your website as search engine friendly as possible.

Graphic Design to Keep Clients Hooked on Your Site

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

Though not as common these days, there was a time when the internet was flooded with gaudy websites that featured a mish mash of colors that fried your eyeballs and weird designs. Unfortunately, many business websites haven´t quite made it up to the present with their graphic design and are still eyesores.

A website that is difficult to look at or read is one that no one will come back to. Why would they, with so many other options out there? Here are a few graphic design tips to make sure that your website is easy to read and keep your clients coming back.

  • Choose a color scheme that works. Go with complimentary colors rather than opposites that are hard on the eyes.
  • Forget the fancy effects unless that is vital to your business presentation. Your graphic design should be clean and neat, without a lot of clutter.
  • Go with dark on light for text. There are a lot of website templates now that have white or gray lettering on a black background. While they may look classy, the truth is that this is really hard to read. Try it for yourself, read a whole article this way and you´ll quickly see how annoying it is.
  • Watch the flashing banners. For some, graphic design means incorporating a bunch of blinking ads and banners into the website. While this may get people´s attention at first, it also distracts from your business.
  • Separate the graphic design elements. Your sidebar and header should be neatly separated from the body of the website for a more soothing effect. Most people like to look at things that are neatly divided, so use different colors or lines to get your point across.

Graphic design can really make or break a site, make sure it´s not ruining your business reputation!
