There is an interesting report from Search Engine Land indicating that the deal may not happen now. Can be found here:

<a href="http://searchengineland.com/report-yelp-deal-not-happening-now-32275?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+searchengineland+%28Search+Engine+Land%29&utm_content=Google+Reader" target="_blank">http://searchengineland.com/report-yelp-deal-not-...</a>

From that report it looks like Yelp is looking towards a bigger pay day. What that tells me is that they are planning on local search becoming huge and they are planning on being a big part of it. I wonder if Google will walk away or offer more money.
