I have recently set up an account on Briz.com after hearing about it through a business partner. set up was easy and quick and the results have been amazing. Briz.com offers a networking community for businesses unlike any other that I have tried. It is a must use if you want to help your company expand.

I totally agree. You definitely need that bait and when you find what "reels them in", it's such a great feeling!

I personally have finally found what works for me. It is called Glyphius. It is a statistical copy writing software that contains a built-in database of over a hundred thousand profitable ads, I truly recommend giving it a look.

Comment on Contests: Better Promoted Through E-mail Or Blog Posts? by Dina Hunter

First off, let me say I'm not into contests but I can see the value of them. I think it depends on what you want to gain with your contest. If you want to sell a new product or service, your newsletter is probably the best way to go. If your goal is to get more subscribers for your newsletter, who will eventually become a buyer of your products or services, then it seems like the blog would be best.

Thanks for posting a response to my survey results! As you mentioned, this survey did have a very low number of participants, so conclusions were quite hard to draw.

Also, I believe you read some of the results incorrectly. Of the participants, 60% CURRENTLY outsource their email marketing, and only 12% manage it in-house (with half of those people using Outlook, and not an email campaign management tool).

In an IDEAL situation, 22% WOULD LIKE to outsource all of their email marketing, where as 50% WOULD LIKE to manage it in-house.

I see where you are coming from in regards to the cost of in-house email marketing vs. outsourcing email marketing. It would depend on the size of the company. However, I believe that if we had two equally large companies that did the same amount of email marketing, then the one that had an in-house employee would not only save money, but not have to put up with much of the hassles of outsourcing may result in.

Once again, thanks for posting about my survey results! I enjoyed reading your reaction. Thanks again!

I love your blog! You tell it how it is and I appreciate that. There are hundreds of new social sites and new internet marketing techniques popping up every week and it can be so overwhelming to a small biz owner. But, like you said - stick to the basics and you'll be just fine - now that rings loud and clear in my mind. Thank you!
